Tallest Structure!
Description: In a group of 4 or 5, we were tasked to build the tallest structure that was able to stand tall for 1 minute. The structure was made up of straws and tape, I also had to stand alone, the only thing that it could touch was the floor
Brainstorm: Most of our group decided after a very long discussion that we would build a tower with a square base and the tower would be held up by stars on the side of the main point.
Procedure: We had two people (Me and Sasha) build the square base, and Allen connect straws. Because of our brainstorming, we had less time to build the tower, and less people, so we rushed and in the end the tower was not strong enough, and it toppled over.
Reflections-SOUL:
S- The strength of our work was how it was structured at the bottom, and even though it fell on the top, the bottom was stable
O- Some of the ways we could have improved our project were making the support on the top of the tower stronger, while making sure the bottom was even
U- I learned through this project that a long brainstorm isn't aways necessary to make a good result
L- Some of the limitations I encountered in this project were limited resources and time, weak/ flimsy resources, and having team members not be able to agree
WISCR: Some of the WISCR that I used in this project were
I- I was an insightful and critical thinker when we had to come up with a brainstorm quickly
C- I used clear communication when I had to talk with my group while building
R- I used respect when I added the Eiffel tower idea beacuse Diana thought it would work, and when my group coulnt agree.
