Project description: This is the last project in this class and we have to find a open-ended project. We were instructed to apply what we have learned to solve a real-life problem using our Fusion 360, 3D printing, and laser-cutting skills. For my problem I noticed how my family always loses our remotes, so i decided to 3D print a remote stand.
Brainstorm: My first idea was to create a box with some holes, but instead i decided to make it rounded and hollow to minimize weight. In the end i decided to make 3 holes and made each a different size for different remotes.
Design 1: At first I decided to just hold one remote in a small box. But I realized i wanted to hold more remotes and a bigger more secure structure.
Design 2: My next design included a more robust structure but it still was to overweight and dense.
Design 3: I made the design include multiple sizes of remotes and made it hollow to make in light weight. I also wanted to make it look better and more clean. the previuous design was to sharp and looked clunky.
Final project: The print came out great with no mistakes.
Problem: Remotes lost and scattered around house.
Solution: Remote stand
Reflection - SOUL
S - One of the strengths of my project is how efficiently I worked I even had extra time because I finished early.
O - I could have probably personalized the project more and add some text on it.
U - Understanding - I learned how to find and solve a problem effectively
L - the printing time took a long time about 2 and a half hours
WISCR -
Well rounded- Overall I did well on this project without a clear mistake.
Self motivated individual - I kept myself accountable and stayed on task.
