Description: In this project we were tasked with finding Ms. Trans cow using the code we used in class. At the beginning of class we were given a clue and as soon as you decoded the clue you had to email the decrypted clue and she would send the next one. The first few ones were decryption using a one digit key and the last one was 10 digit.
Procedure: We first learned how to create a decryption code and encryption code in class. We first started with the encryption which there was two types a one digit key which all the letters in the message were changed down the alphabet by that number. The next type was 10 digit key where each word was changed individually. For example the first letter was changed by the first number and once it got past ten it would repeat. For the decryption is the same except you have to do the opposite and plug in a key to change everything back. The first four clues were easy since they were only one digit encryption. The last clue was the hardest though it took me and my partner sam how to solve it. We eventually realized that clue 4 had 6 numbers so we plugged that in to see what would happen. When we saw what happened some of the words were half decoded. For example we knew that cof meant the cow so if you counted the distance from w to f you would find the numbers. Our final answer was 6508069278.
This is the half Decoded message
All the answers and clues.
Soul Reflection:
Strengths- I think one of the strengths in this project between me and sam was our critical thinking. We figured out how to count the number to find the key without coding.
Opportunities- we could've improved by using our time more effectively we were one of the last teams to finish.
Understanding- Me and sam learned many things during this project, how to decrypt and encrypt using the 10 digit keys and the one digit keys.
Limitations- Me and Sam aren't the best coders so it took us a while to figure things out. It also took us a while to figure how to solve clue 5.
WISCR:
Me and my partner demonstrated two main aspects of WISCR:
Well rounded- Our team wasn't specialized in anything but all around we were still good at figuring out the clues and answers.
Insightful and critical thinkers- I think we did a good job at finding unique ways to solve the clues especially the last on and using the number from clue 4 to help us with clue 5.
