Project Description: In this project we were instructed to Design a personalized chocolate to highlight and celebrate a Mandarin 8 students heritage using AutoDesk Fusion 360, 3D printer, and silicone plastique mold-making technique. The product should also be a circle with a diameter of 2.5 inches and the total height being 0.25 inches
Brainstorm: We were instructed to give 3 designs examples to the customer for them to choose. According to these requests from the customer.
she choose the 1st one:
My first prototype
Mistakes: The laterns seams did not show up on the print and Ms.Tran wanted me to change the latern so it would be more true to the design. The dimensions were off and the letter were too small.
Prototype 2:
I printed it again after fixing the letter size, changing the dimensions, and changing one of the lanterns to be more original to the chosen design.
Prototype 3:
I changed the the lanterns seams so they would be more visible I also fixed my fusion 360 were I had multiple sketches that were linked to nothing. After deleting the sketches it allowed me to work more freely.
Molding:
This was my first mold and I accidentally left some air gaps on the edges which ruined it.
Molding 2: My final mold was good in the end but I had to patch a small hole and cut a little bit of the top so we could access the chocolate better.
Chocolate Making: we first sterilized the mold by cleaning it with soap and putting it in boiling water. After this we dried it and put chocolate in it making sure to get out all of the air bubbles we then put it inot the fridge to cool. My chocolate came out pretty well with a few scuffs.
Reflection - SOUL
S - I think I did a good job doing revisions every new prototype I always improved the design never going back.
O - I could have perfected my first mold and made it have no air bubbles I think i took too long talking to my friends which allowed the silicone to harden.
U - I learned about fusion 360 in more depth I also learned to keep my fusion 360 more organized which helps me work more efficiently.
L - I had trouble molding in the end I needed to focus on the molding instead of talking to my friends.
WISCR - choose at least two learning skills that you apply/practice often in this project and explain why you chose these skills.
W- I I was pretty well rounded in this project because I could use Fusion 360 pretty well, and overall I worked efficiently.
C- I was a clear communicator because Arya and I communicated well and clearly, and we both responded to each other every class telling each other what they thought and changed.
