Integrating research experiences to increase student access to and success in STEM careers

The STEM-CURE Program is an NSF funded educational intervention that introduces Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) in courses taught at community colleges with the purpose of increasing interest in STEM careers as well as retention and persistence in STEM courses

Transforming our institutions, students, and communities through research

The STEM-CURE Program is an interdisciplinary, multi-institution program including all of the ten MCCCD community colleges.  The program’s goal is to use CUREs to increase recruitment and retention of community college students into STEM fields, to promote interest in STEM disciplines, and to expose students to career opportunities and career pathways by including cross-sector partnerships with industry and a variety of organizations in the design and implementation of CUREs.
