FREE COUNSELING

PGCPS is excited to announce our new partnership with Hazel Health that will allow students to complete urgent medical care visits or therapy sessions virtually!

Beginning in October, Hazel’s doctors and therapists will be available to see students while they are at home or at school. Services will be available at no cost to every student, regardless of their family’s insurance or financial situation.

This is an expansion of our present physical and mental health services and we will need teachers and staff to share this information and encourage families to sign-up.

More information is coming soon.

PRO BONO COUNSELING

ACCESS FREE THERAPY IN MARYLAND

At Pro Bono Counseling, our priority is to provide the mental health support that suits you best. We do that by prioritizing making the right match.

That philosophy has led us to match over 30,000 individuals and families of all backgrounds throughout Maryland since 1991. We do it because we believe good mental health should be available for all.

We help individuals get connected to our network in three simple steps:

Call our office and we will schedule a phone interview with a Pro Bono Counseling staff member. Generally, phone interviews are scheduled within 1-3 business days of your initial call.

Participate in a confidential phone interview with a licensed professional. During the phone interview, we want to get to know you as an individual. Our questions are personal but not intrusive and often include the following:

The more we understand your background, the better chance we have of finding the right match for you.

Similarly, we consider preferences for a counselor’s cultural background, expertise, spoken languages, gender, therapy style, and other factors to find you the right fit.

Connect with a licensed counselor or other resources

If you are matched with one of our Pro Bono partners, you will be provided with the therapist’s contact information within two to four weeks so that you may set up your first appointment. This is an individualized process and during periods of high demand the wait time may be longer.

Our Counselors are able to meet with you for therapy in-person or over secure virtual platforms. During the COVID-19 emergency, telephone-based counseling has also become available. Wait times may vary but rest assured that we’re doing our best to connect you to quality mental health care as soon as we possibly can.

If your needs are outside the scope of our volunteers, we’ll connect you with other free or low-cost resources near you so that you can get connected to care.

At the end of the day, we want to make sure we find the right type of care to support you in what you’re experiencing.

Our Vision

As a behavioral health services pioneer, we are committed to another 40 years of changing the mental health and situational crisis narrative among our local governments and communities. By streamlining access to services, and expanding our impact, we ensure everyone has experienced and compassionate support -- when they need it and where they need it -- so that they never walk alone.

The Santé Group provides community-based emergency response and comprehensive mental health services to individuals in need and their families and loved ones. We promote a wide array of tailored treatment options to help people who experience emotional health challenges receive the support services they need to heal and recover.

Our approach is to focus on a person’s health, not the problem, because we believe that recovery is possible and hope is always present.

Our customers include the citizens of the 13 counties that we serve in Maryland (Prince George's, Montgomery, Baltimore, and Carroll, as well as the following counties on the Eastern Shore: Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset), and the region of North Carolina that we reach every day with our community-based emergency response and outreach mental health services. Our clients include the individuals receiving our services and their families and loved ones.
