Planning a College Visit

Be Prepared for your College Visit

Campus visits are a great way to find out more about what the college offers its’ students and it is never to early to start  visiting. College is a big investment of time and money so you shouldn’t make a decision to attend a particular school without a thorough visit to make sure it’s right for you. Definitely college tour guides will showcase the highlights of the institution but asking questions is key to getting a full picture of  the college experience.

Although, visiting can be challenging when students are still in school but the best time to visit is when institutions are full in session during fall or spring semester. Any time is a good time even as early as a 10th grade year; it's just as valuable to find that you really don't like a school as it is to find that love it.

If there is a college that requires travel plans, it is highly recommended to visit after students get accepted. Students do not want to pay for plane ticket, hotel, car rental, etc and then find out they didn't get accepted.

Honestly, visiting colleges might be the most important step of your entire college search.
