Requirements for Participation

PGCPS students must meet the following criteria to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program:

  • Be enrolled in a Prince George’s County Public School by the PGCPS universal application deadline (Private and Homeschool students are not eligible for this particular program but may be eligible for Concurrent Enrollment Programs).


  • Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative high school grade point average with prior qualifying test scores (ACCUPLACER, SAT or ACT) for desired institution (Minimum admissions test score requirements may vary at each college)

  • OR

  • Have a minimum 3.0 unweighted cumulative high school grade point average.


  • Be enrolled in 11th or 12th grade (this includes the summer before a student’s junior year).

  • Provide your own transportation to and from campus.


  • Students who qualify for the program will be contacted by PGCPS. If a student is not contacted and believes he/she qualifies for the program, they should email their school counselor.

  • BE MINDFUL: college admission requirements may vary depending on college institution.

Please Note: Seniors are not able to earn dual credit (courses that receive both high school and college credit) for courses taken during the SPRING semester of their senior year.

To be admitted into the Dual Enrollment Program, students must:

  • Meet minimum test score or prerequisite high school course requirements for desired college/university (where applicable).

  • Be approved for interested college-level courses by their professional school counselor.

  • Submit a PGCPS approved Dual Enrollment application with the desired institution and an Intent to Enroll (where applicable – colleges/universities where there is no partnership directly with PGCPS).
