Welcome to the Pennsbury Drama Website!
Open to all students, Pennsbury Drama provides students at Pennsbury High School in grades 9-12 the opportunity to participate in year-round theatrical productions. This includes Thursday Night Live! (TNL), the Fall and Spring Dramas, Night of One Acts, Dessert Theater, the Bucks County Student Theatre Festival, the PA State Thespian Conference and the International Thespian Festival. The commitment involves after school rehearsals for upcoming productions. For dedicated students, there is the opportunity to earn service points during productions to become a member of Pennsbury High School’s Thespian Troupe #830, an Honor Society for the dramatic arts and a part of the International Thespian Society.
Rehearsals and meetings are held during the school year on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
from 3:15pm-5:15pm in "The Cave" at PHS West (Orange Auditorium).

Shoutout to Mr. Matthes, Mr. Capozzola, Danny Capozzola, Matt Palumbo, Maddie McGlynn, and Hayleigh Monachello! Our "Suite Surrender" set is coming along beautifully, and the light booth area has been cleaned out.
Reminder: Volunteer activities like this help students accumulate the 100 hours required to be inducted as thespians in the
International Thespian Society (the National Honor Society of Theatre).
If you are already inducted, additional hours count toward earning special recognitions and graduation awards at Dessert Theatre your senior year:
• Honor Thespian – 600 hours
• National Honor Thespian – 1,200 hours
• International Honor Thespian – 1,800+ hours
Stay tuned for more volunteer opportunities, and don’t forget to join our Remind groups to keep up with the latest info!
A huge shoutout to our Magical Miss Schanbacher, Energetic Emma, Jittery Jacob, Nice Nate, Fun Fae, and Andrew (who managed to dodge the name game!) for bringing the energy. Special thanks as well to the PDP and Mrs. Templeton for helping make the day such a success. And of course, a big welcome to all of our wonderful new participants—we’re so glad you joined us!
Congratulations to the newly appointed Pennsbury Drama Student Board!
Stepping into these roles marks the beginning of a rewarding journey filled with creativity, collaboration and leadership. As you shape the future of Pennsbury Drama, you'll set the example for others while building a vibrant community and inspiring your peers.
Here's to a successful, fun and exciting year ahead!
Tuck Everlasting is a poignant play about young Winnie Foster, who discovers a family with a magical secret that challenges her understanding of life and mortality. As she faces a life-changing choice, Winnie learns the value of living fully and cherishing each moment.
Pennsbury Thespian Troupe 830 wowed audiences and adjudicators alike at the Bucks County Playhouse Student Theatre Festival on April 2 and 3, bringing home multiple awards for their creativity, performance, and direction. Four students (Rosie Reeves, Hibah Abdellatif, Lola Castro and Emily Carlin) each directed a One Act play. A One Act play is a full length play that is cut down and performed in 20 minutes or less.
On March 27, 2025, student board members of Pennsbury Thespian Troupe #830 traveled to the Pennsylvania State Capitol to advocate for Theatre in Our Schools. During their visit, they met with Representatives John Prokopiak and Perry Warren, as well as State Senator Steve Santarsiero.
Set under the mystical glow of the northern lights,
"Almost, Maine" takes audiences on a whimsical journey into the complexities of love and human connection. Nine short, heartwarming, humorous, and sometimes quirky tales will transport audiences to a cold, clear, moonless night in the fictional town of Almost, Maine, where love takes center stage in all its forms.
Magic Theatre is an innovative show that features songs and sketches as characters move through comic and serious contemporary fables celebrating the magic of childhood.
