1. CYFS Practicum Overview - This is a pdf document that you can share with potential practicum site supervisors. It provides information on class assignments, specifications on hours, program outcomes, and course objectives for both CFS 497 and CFS 498. You can also share the CYFS program website. link here.
2. Student Practicum Planning Packet - This is for students to use while they are planning for their practicum experience. This includes a sample email to send to potential sites, there is also a checklist for students to follow as they search for a secure place of their own placement. link here.

4. CYFS practicum binder - This is a PDF document that includes 80+ options for students to review. You are not required to use these options; these are merely suggestions. You can choose your own site as long as it aligns with the CYFS program outcomes. link here.

The job is 35 hours a week and offering $20-$26/hour depending on experience and qualifications. Our children development center at Portland State University is looking for students who are interested in gaining leadership skills in family and children learning environment by joining their advisory board and attending a meeting once a month. Contact Helen Gordon Child Development Center. HGCDC is funded by the Student Fee Association and we're required to have a board of mostly students who share opinions and concerns and vote on decisions that affect our services. We're looking for students to join our board! No experience necessary - we'll make it easy and fun. This is a volunteer opportunity, a resume-builder, and a way to be more engaged in your PSU experience. Details are below and please email joyoder@pdx.edu if you'd like to join!
Attend 2 meetings per term.
Meetings are one hour long, one week apart. The first meeting is for presentations and content. The second meeting is for discussion.
Participate in remote voting after board meetings, by completing a Google form.
