*Reminder* this section of the newsletter is for all BSW students—from incoming students to those currently completing their practicum.
With 100+ students across four or more cohorts, staying in communication is essential. Please make it a habit to check the Undergraduate newsletter (this site) and your PSU email regularly so you don’t miss important updates, deadlines, forms, registration information, or program reminders.
We know there’s a lot to keep track of, which is why we created this newsletter—to keep important BSW information and communications together in one place.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS for Students who are beginning their practicum Fall 2026
If you have a confirmed practicum: contact your Agency Practicum Instructor ASAP to confirm your practicum schedule [first day, days of the week, supervision, onboarding]. Fall term starts on September 28th
If you have applied for an ESW but haven’t completed your ESW Application yet, you MUST complete by September 1st AND contact your coordinator ASAP to schedule the required confirmation meeting
If you haven’t registered for SW 400 [Practicum & Seminar], you will need a departmental override to register for one of the open sections. Please email Julie Kates jkates@pdx.edu and Melissa Penners penners@pdx.edu
