BSW Practicum Reminders & News

Registration SW 400: 

Please remember you MUST register for the same instructor, day and time  as the previous term. This is your liaison for the entire year. You can find their name and CRN in the Registration Hub.

Practicum Documents & Due Dates: 

Please review the information about the required documents in the Practicum Handbook which you can access through the Student Web Center .

Plan ahead for winter break (Dec 13 - Jan 4) see pages 6-7 of the Practicum Handbook

Holidays and Vacations

Students should anticipate annual holidays/vacations and plan their schedules accordingly to assure completion of all required practicum hours.

● There are two significant academic breaks during each academic year; a 3 week break in December and a one-week break in March (see Practicum Calendar on web center)

● Students should inform Practicum Instructors about these breaks to assure coverage of their responsibilities during vacation

● Students are not expected to attend the practicum during those breaks except under pre-arranged circumstances

● Students may use academic break time to make up missed practicum hours from the previous term or to bank extra practicum hours for future use

● Students are expected to remain in the practicum through the last week of Spring Term even if they have exceeded the minimum number of required practicum hours

Share your course syllabi with your Practicum Instructors/Site Supervisors so they can support integration of your coursework into your practicum.
