The PSU University Supervisor is a master’s-level professional with a minimum of 3 years experience working as an O&M Specialist, who is credentialed as a COMS or NOMC. All University Supervisors are hired through the PSU Office of Human Resources and receive training from PSU.
The PSU University Supervisor supports the O&M Cooperating Professional, the O&M Cooperating Professional-O&M Candidate relationship and the practicum student through the following:
Provide the O&M Candidate with a minimum of 1 in-person coaching-observation session and 1 virtual coaching session during each term.
Sign off on log of hours through Google Site ePortfolio.
Participate in and sign off on evaluation documents. (each term: ACVREP/AERBVI competencies form; Required Experiences Tracking Guide; Log of Hours; Coaching Form; Artifact Rubrics. At the beginning and end of the program: COE Field Evaluation Rubric).
Provide 1-2 additional touch points for discussion, ePortfolio feedback and clarity for the use of strategies given in the distance consultation module as requested by the O&M Candidate.
With the PSU Program Coordinator, Dr. Amy Parker, provide resources to either the O&M Cooperating Professional or the O&M Candidate for enhancing communications, problem solving, dispute resolution, and relationship building.
