At PSU, the O&M Program Coordinator is a professional with a doctorate and a COMS who is responsible for program alignment and development as well as contributing to the O&M field through research, teaching, and professional service. Throughout the practicum experience, PSU’s O&M Program Coordinator is responsible for:
Affiliation Agreements.
Monitoring instructors and provides assistance as necessary.
Addressing any programmatic, procedural or placement questions or issues.
Approving any major changes made in practicum placement.
Monitoring OSEP grants and scholarships.
Reviewing O&M courses and ensuring AERBVI and ACVREP compliance.
Providing virtual consultations, trainings, and supports to CPs and US as they support candidates.
Coordinating professional development offered to University Supervisors each year.
Providing programmatic documentation to internal and external reviewers, professionals agencies, federal and state funders, and to the Pacific Northwest Consortium for Vision Educators (PNWCVE).
