Music Staff

Our program is run by Mr. Rollings and Ms. Nelson. Mr. Rollings graduated with a B.Mus (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2001, and then completed his B.Ed. at York U and his M.Ed at Brock U. He started his career teaching in the Peel DSB elementary panel at Huttonville P.S., and is now the head of the Arts and Moderns Departments at Humberview SS. A percussionist and lower brass player by trade, he has performed with many concert bands, jazz bands, orchestras and military brass & reed bands over the years, and currently performs with the Streetsville Pipes & Drums. Mr. Rollings teaches our Band, guitar, percussion, music production and vocal classes, in addition to teaching visual arts for our Vocational students.

Ms. Nelson completed her B.Mus (Hons) at McMaster University in 2009 and went on to complete her B.Ed. at the Schulich School of Education at Nippissing University. She has been teaching in the Peel DSB secondary panel since 2010 and taught at Chinguacousy SS, T.L. Kennedy SS and Turner Fenton SS before finally arriving at Humberview in 2015. A flautist by trade, Ms. Nelson teaches our band, guitar, percussion and music production courses, in addition to her work with the Special Education and Social Sciences Departments.
