What are RM systems?
Remote Microphone (RM) systems (some of which are commonly referred to as Frequency Modulation or FM systems) are devices that transmit a speaker's voice from a transmitter to a receiver on a hearing aid or cochlear implant sound processor, or to a receiver in a soundfield system for students who do not wear amplification devices on their ears. In an educational environment, the purpose of the system is to provide a student with proper access to the teacher's instruction or the voices of other speakers in the room. The system allows the student to hear a speaker's voice above any other noises happening within the classroom.
