Elementary schools (6-12) use Meeting Attendance.
The DAV (Daily Attendance Value) is pulled from the Meeting Attendance.
Data for Truancy is pulled from the Daily Attendance. The Daily Attendance page must be updated for our own reporting (# of doctor absences, etc.)
What the homeroom teacher posts is their attendance for the day because of the 1 way bridge.
Teachers must post attendance EVERY SINGLE DAY. No exceptions.
When you run a Check In/Check Out Report, make sure you use Meeting Attendance.
Go to the Meeting Attendance page and click on the appropriate day
Click on the clock and enter the time in for the student.
If PS SIS suggests an absence code for that period, choose the appropriate one based off of their reason (Unexcused, Doctor's note, etc.)
If PS SIS suggests a present code for that period, choose either Tardy Excused or Tardy Unexcused and NOT Present. Do NOT use "Doctor," etc. because those are "absent" codes.
Do not fill subsequent periods.
Enter comment.
Submit
On the Meeting attendance page, fill the previous periods with the proper code (Doctor's note, Unexcused, etc.)
Submit
Click on the fraction of time (ex. 120/420). If the % is 0-50, the student is absent for the day. If the % is 51-100, the student is present.
Go to the Daily Attendance view.
Click on the day you are working with and change the attendance code to match for reporting purposes. Enter any comments and press submit.
OPTIONAL - if you want your numbers to match perfectly, you may also enter the Check In/Check Out here.
