As part of the Vachan Sankalp Maharashtracha initiative, in line with the Government of Maharashtra's "Reading Resolution of Maharashtra," the Library Committee organized a series of activities from January 6 to January 15, 2025, through the Library: Knowledge Resource Centre. These events, including Library Cleaning, a Book Exhibition, a Group Reading Activity, and an Oral Book Review Competition, aimed to promote a reading culture, enhance linguistic skills, and strengthen the connection with literature.
The IQAC and Library: Knowledge Resource Centre collaborated to organize Pratishrut: The Annual Inter-Collegiate Fest from 17th to 18th January 2025. On the 18th, the Library hosted a Book Review Competition and a Bookmark Making Competition, with 15 entries for the Book Review and 19 entries for Bookmark Making, fostering creativity and literary engagement among students.
Down-to-earth e-magazines and daily e-newspapers are uploaded regularly to the drive of the official library email ID and iOPAC for reading purposes.
This year, three journals from IUP Publications—Knowledge Management, Business Strategy, and Soft Skills—have been added to our journal collection.
The Library has effectively utilized the support of volunteers to download and upload free e-books, with a total of 21,782 e-books made available to date. This initiative is part of an ongoing process, ensuring that new e-books are continuously uploaded as long as free resources remain accessible online, promoting wider access to digital learning materials.
The Library has successfully completed the affixing of iOPAC barcode labels to the cover pages of all new NEP textbooks for first-year B.Com, BMS, and B.Com (B&I) students. Additionally, the process of affixing barcode labels to reference books is currently underway, enhancing the efficiency of the library's cataloging and lending system.
An LCD screen has been installed and is actively used to display regular circulars.
The QR code for iOPAC has been successfully adopted by students for easy access to question papers.
Online proposals from students are now being received through iOPAC, streamlined the proposal submission process.
The content indexing of NEP FY textbooks has been completed, ensuring better organization and quick access to materials.
Feedback on Library Facilities has been collected from teachers for the academic year 2024-2025, and student feedback will be gathered through the Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS).
This year, 47 students from second & third year B.Com, BMS, and B.Com (B&I) availed the Book Bank facility for both semesters.
Bibliotherapy services were offered to 30 (thirty) students, as part of the library's best practices, with the goal of promoting students' well-being and supporting their academic development."
Above 10, 000 (ten thousand) E-books on various subjects have been uploaded on the software and were made available on iOPAC for remote access of the same to the students & teachers.
Regularly Down-to-earth e-magazines and daily e-newspapers are uploaded on iOPAC for reading purposes.
This year Harvard Business Review e-journal has been subscribed, upload the same on software to access through iOPAC and even the pdf is mailed to teachers as well.
The Committee renewed the subscription of 14 journals & 9 magazines and added 1 magazine (Business World) for the benefit of students and teachers reading.
This academic year we had one more MoU of Interlibrary Loan with Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College and under the MoU three activities i.e. Poetry Writing Recitation Competition, Visit to Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute and Awareness Campaign on Marathi Bhasha Diwas were organized and previous MoU of Interlibrary Loan was renewed with Public Night Degree College.
As suggested by our Committee an orientation session on Bibliotherapy was conducted at Public Night Degree College (PNDC) and Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College (MPSPSC) for the awareness of the bibliotherapy and the students can avail the benefits of service and even the bibliotherapy service was given to 5(five) students of PNDC and 10(ten) students of MPSPSC the service was completed successfully.
The Committee prepared students and deputed them to participate in the Intercollegiate Review Book Competition at two Colleges i.e. at KES’ Shroff College & Clara College of Commerce.
Sun board of Bibliotherapy services was affixed at the entrance of the library for awareness among students and the therapy was given to 13(thirteen) students with suitable books for reading & healing their concerns at the initial stage. The therapy received good responses and was well appreciated.
The Committee agreed upon and suggested to the principal for the purchase of a book named The Novel Cure An A-Z of Literary Remedies which provides a summary of ailments arranged alphabetically with suggestions of books to be read for the particular ailments mentioned as well for the effective Bibliotherapy service could be given to students.
Articles from newspapers (Times of India & Mid-day) related to education were mailed to the Principal, various articles related to teachings from Times of India newspaper, Yojana & Kurukshetra magazines and University News journals were mailed to teachers and general & business articles were mailed to all students via official email-ids and posted on WhatsApp groups of alumni.
The Committee under the NDLI Club conducted 20 (twenty) activities with teachers and staff via the NDLI portal and got a renewal membership of the NDLI.
Five new headphones were purchased for students' convenience to listen to the video lectures of teachers and other academic videos.
The Committee reformed the Reader’s Ticket membership annually for alumni Rs. 300/- and Rs. 500/- for outsiders.
68 (Sixty-eight) students have availed the book bank facility in this academic year 2023-2024.
In this academic year 63(sixty-three) specimen copies were added to the collections that are utilized under book bank and for issuing purposes.
The Librarian conducted a Session on National Education Policy 2020 to provide a general idea about the same to the students as per the suggestion of the Library Committee for the Department of Economics.
E-question papers of five years for all semesters of B.Com, BMS & B.Com. (B&I) were made available on iOPAC for 24*7 remote access of the same to the students & teachers.
As per the requirement of teachers, e-books are searched from various sources and made available for reference purposes.

The Committee renewed the subscription of 13 journals, and added 1 new journal (Applied Finance) & 2 magazines (Kurukshetra & Yojana) for the benefit of students and teachers reading.
The Committee with the Department of Business Economics conducted a Publication Review – a Review of an article for Kurukshetra & Yojana magazine for students to make students read research articles to widen their perspectives, to know the art of writing research articles, to review what the article was about in their own ways and also to appreciate the efforts taken by the researchers to do the research on various subject.
The Committee prepared students and deputed them to participate in Intercollegiate Review Book Competition at six Colleges and two students won at three Colleges.
Conference on Cultivating Potentials in Education and Business was organized in collaboration with Research & Publication Cell to provide the opportunity to academicians, library Professionals, research scholars and PG Students to present and publish papers on various perspectives of the potentials Indian Businesses.
The Committee with Counselling & Guidance Cell took the initiative to spread awareness among students about the Bibliotherapy services available in our College and how it helps us use books to heal and overcome our difficulties.
The Committee with Students’ Council had an awareness campaign on Marathi Bhasha Diwas for students to familiarize the significant contributions of eminent personalities towards marking the history of Marathi literature as incredible.
Articles from newspapers on Research Methodology were mailed to teachers and general & business articles were mailed to all students via official email-ids.
The Committee under NDLI Club conducted eight activities with teachers and staff via the NDLI portal and got a renewal membership of the NDLI.
The tablets are kept in aluminum protected case and connected the extended cable to the 3.5mm jack of tablets so that students can connect the headphones provided without opening the aluminum case.
E-resources that include e-books, e-magazines & e-journals were made available on iOPAC for remote access of the same to the students & teachers.
The initiative of sending the General Circular notifications through iSLIM software were commenced.
The Committee had purchased tablet stands for easy reading & a separate Academic Surfing Area has been arranged with three tablets and two computers having Wi-Fi connectivity for students to access e-resources.
A Periodical rack has purchased for the display of journals & magazines
The Committee had renewed the subscription of 12 journals, 5 magazines & 9 newspapers and also taken subscription of online access one journal (Harvard Business Review) & one magazine (Down to Earth) for the benefits of students and teachers.
The Committee purchased 100 comfortable seating chairs.
The Committee with Department of Business Communication conducted Reading Skills Competition (offline & online) for students to help them for improving the reading skills with different techniques of reading out aloud and presentation.
Three students were deputed as interns in our library for 45 & 75 working days and was provided with an Experience Letter. The following are the students:
