"Awareness Campaign on “Marathi Bhasha Diwas "
27th February, 2023
Library Committee (NDLI Club) & Student Council took the initiative to organized an Awareness Campaign on “Marathi Bhasha Diwas” i.e. on 27th February, 2023 in the respective classrooms to celebrate the birth anniversary of eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar who was popularly known as Kusumagraj.
The main objectives were :
to honour the rich history and literature of Marathi regional language
to unfold the significant contributions of Kusumagraj made in the cultural field of Maharashtra and tireless efforts to make Marathi the language of knowledge
The student participants were present in common attire with the posters in their hand visited classrooms and introduced each eminent significant contributions towards making the history of Marathi literature incredible
The campaign was well very conducted and appreciated

"Intercollegiate Book Review Competition "
25th February, 2023
Our students participated in Intercollegiate “Book Review Competition” organized by Chandrabhan Sharma College of Arts, Science & Commerce on 25th February, 2023
The main objectives were :
To develop their thinking skills about the book and draw conclusions based on both facts and feelings,
To develop writing book review skills i.e. to evaluate the overall content of the book and digest it in a more complex way than simply following the story and understanding its plot.
Through such competition, the students get the habit of researching the author of their chosen book to know about the life and other books written by the author, build the confidence of sharing the thoughts of a book with others, while browsing students get to know some must read and gets an opportunity of open environment for expressing their creativity and honing their skills.

"Conference on Cultivating Potentials in education and Business "
11th February, 2023
The Conference on Cultivating Potentials in Education and Business was a collaborative initiative of our College Research & Publication Cell and Library: Knowledge Resource Centre to invite research papers in the areas that depict potential practices for the improvement of education institutions and businesses which was organized on 11th February, 2023
The main objectives were :
To explore new methods that will aid in enhancing Indian Education as well as to help explore academicians perspectives of the potential Indian Businesses have to grow beyond.
To gather recommendations from academicians and corporate experts on how to build a better professional world.
The conference received a good number of research papers from delegates of various fields of education, LIS and corporates and the knowledge on diverse topics was explored.

An “Orientation on searching resources from iOPAC & Program on Bibliotherapy Service” was organized for the students of B. Com, BMS & B. Com (Banking & Insurance) in the month of February, 2023
The main objectives were :
To provide hands-on session on browsing resources from iOPAC.
To get aware of the bibliotherapy service and its benefits.
The students were well furnished on access of iOPAC and well familiarized with the bibliotherapy service.

"Publication Review Competition"
Review of an article from Yojana & Kurukshetra Magazines
21st January, 2023
Library Committee & Department of Business Economics had taken an initiative to introduce a new activity i.e. Publication Review - Review of an article for Kurukshetra & Yojana magazine on 21st January, 2023
The main objectives were :
to read research articles to widen the perspectives,
to know the art of writing research articles,
to review what the article was about in their own ways
to learn to appreciate the efforts taken by the researchers to do the research on various subjects.
This has created an awareness among students of the availability of the magazines in the library, reading the research articles improves their knowledge and exploring gets more clarity on various subjects. With this students enjoyed reading & reviewing the research articles and has helped to raise their exceptional learning ability among students.

Our student participated for Intercollegiate “Book Review Presentation Competition” organized by Jashbhai Maganbhai Patel College of Commerce on 12th January, 2023
The main objectives were :
To learn the techniques of selection of book,
To understand the techniques of review of a book and
To build the confidence to review on stage
Through such competition and guidance received from our teachers the student was encouraged to inculcate the habit of reading and choosing right books of their interest and develop the confidence of reveiwing in better manner

The main objectives were :
To learn the techniques of reading how to review a book
To understand the writing skills of a book review
To improve the techniques of preparing a Power Point Presentation of the review
The student got an experience of presenting a review through PowerPoint Presentation
The students learned the methods of reading, writing and presenting a review
It was another proud moment for our College to know that one of our student Dikshith Kundar from SYBMS won first prize at the competition. He was awarded with a certificate and cash prize of an amount of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only).

Intercollegiate e-Quiz Competition
15th October, 2022
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam & "Vaachan Prerana Din" The Learning Resource Centre of Sanskar Sarjan Education Society's, DTSS College of Commerce & PDT Junior College of Commerce & Science, Malad organized Intercollegiate e-Quiz Competition i.e quiz was in Google. Our students participated in the competition and also received an e-certificate of participation.
The main objectives were :
To understand the level of familiarity with the eminent persona,
To gain knowledge about the several types of books published and level of reading
Such competition makes awareness about
Renowned personalities their contributions towards the nation and their remarkable achievements.
Different genres of books (fiction, non-fiction & novels) are published that are good to read for students overall comprehension.

On the occasion of Vachhchan Prerna Divas our studnets participated for Intercollegiate “Book Review Video Presentation Competition” organized by Adarsh Arts, Commerce & Science College on 14th October, 2022
The main objectives were :
To review a book,
To write a book review,
To learnt the techniques of preparing a video of the review
The students got an experience of presenting a review and preparing a video of their own self
It was another cheerful moment for our College to know that Vishakha Jadhav won third prize at the competition got certificate and cash prize of an amount of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only).

Essay Writing Competition on
“Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam”
15th October, 2022
The Committee took an initiative to raise awareness about renowned personality Late Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of the Country as well every year on the occasion his birth anniversary i.e. 15th October, 2022 is observe 'Vachan Prerna Divas' (Inspire to Read Day).
The main objectives were :
to enable students to read about life and achievements of the renowned scientist, the Missile Man of India and the former President of India Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam;
to get knowledge of his efforts and contributions toward the development of our Country and
why is he considered as the youth icon in India.
The initiatives was well appreciated wherein good number of students participated of which 5 students were declared the winners. This showed the interest level of students to read and write on their admired personality, the icon who stays in the heart of youngsters.

The students attentively watched the video showed on Samrt class and were glad to get knowledge about the great charisma, the Youth icon Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalma and the reason that WHO has declared Vachan Prerna Diwas on his birthday i.e 15th October, 2022.

Our students participated in Intercollegiate “Book Review Competition” organized by KBS & KMS Learning Resource Centre in association with Indian Institute of Banking & Finance and media partner Business Standard insight out held on 29th September, 2022.
The main objectives were :
To write a book review.
To understand the selection of a book for a review,
To know the techniques of presenting a review
Through the competition the students got knowledge of presenting the review through PPT.
It was a cheering moment for our College to know that Dikshith Kundar won third prize at the competition and both the students received certificate of participation and the winner got certificate of appreciation, medal and cash prize of an amount of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only).

The main objectives were :

Students learnt the following:
The students understood how to pick the key points of the book that should be shared at time of reviewing.
The review has to express the specialty of the book to encourage reading among the students.

23rd August, 2022
“Poetry Writing & Recitation Competition" for the students of Patuck-Gala College and the PNDC on the occasion to celebrate the birth anniversary of the great soul of India Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan known as the father of Library Science on 23rd August, 2022 in Patuck-Gala College Library.
The main objectives were :
To develop the abilities of proper use of intonation, diction and pronunciation that brings out the beauty of poetry composed aesthetically.
To stir student’s imagination that shows different shades of human beings and brings out the different feelings of human emotions in poetic manner.
The students recited the poems with great zeal and enthusiasm, enjoyed recitation of other participants

Library Committee had organized an “Orientation Program” for the first year students of B. Com, BMS & B. Com (Banking & Insurance) 10th & 24th August, 2022
The main objectives were:
To orient about the overall facilities, services, activities etc., of the library.
To provide demo on how to access online resources available on drive and iOPAC facility.
The students were fully informed about the facilities & services available, various activities conducted that inculcated reading habits among students and got depth information and obtained accurate knowledge to access iOPAC & e-resources.

“ Seminar for Orientation of Project Work ”

Research & Publication Cell and the Library Committee conducted a Seminar for Orientation of Project Work for the students of T.Y.BMS & T.Y.B.Com. (B&I) on July 30, 2022
The main objectives were:
· To make students understand the significance of doing a Project and how it reflects on their career path
· To make students understand on how to narrow down on an issue and select a focused topic for the project work
· To make students understand how to build on the main body of the project
· To make students understand how to refer the resources to maintain a Bibliography
Students understood the need to think seriously and work on their projects referring to the resources & e-resources.

Library Committee had organized an “Orientation Program” for the Second and third year students of B. Com, BMS & B. Com (Banking & Insurance) in the month of June & July, 2022.
The Orientation Programme was about Library facilities & services, Accessibility of iOPAC facility (Online Public Access Catalogue)
The students were fully informed about the overall facilities & services available and got in-depth information and obtained accurate knowledge to access iOPAC & e-resources
