“Reading Skills Competition”
11th March, 2022
Library Committee & Department of Business Communication organised a Reading Skills Competition on 11th March 2022 in the Conference room. In all 31 students participated wherein only 6 (six) were online on Google Meet platform. Students were allowed to read in English, Hindi & Marathi. Mrs. Byshi Panikar & Mr. Abhijeet Paradkar had judged the competition and the judgement was based on pronunciation, voice modulation and reading style.
Objectives of Conducting the Competition
To prepare students to know about the importance of the spoken word, voice modulation and diction in business communication,
To expose the presentation simulation through reading out aloud,
Holistic development of the reading skills, word power and presentation style of the students.
To encourage students to access various books like fiction, motivational, skill improvement for reading purpose depending on their preference of language and their interest level
Outcome of Conducting the Competition
Students learned about the different techniques of reading out aloud and presentation.
Students are now equipped with a better vocabulary and the knowledge of needed voice modulations and gain knowledge to selecting books for their further perspective.
Students have the necessary information to prepare themselves and ace future business communications.
Students were duly presented with certificates of participation.

“Intercollegiate Online Book Review Competition”
5th February, 2022
The Library Committee has taken the initiative to select and prepared students for participating at Intercollegiate Online Book Review Competition" organized by KES’ Shri Jayantilal H. Patel Law College on 5th February 2022 at 4.00 p.m. on Zoom Platform.
Mr. Anirban Das the author of the book: Are You Kidding me? was the guest speaker and judge for the event
Objectives of Conducting the Competition
to know how a book review can explore the positive or negative elements or both of a book.
to guide them on how to write the short description as well as analyzes the strengths and weakness of the book
Outcome of Conducting the Competition
The students understood how to start with a summary of the book, to focus on the main idea, provide necessary information and avoid too many details of the book also at the end should tell opinion on the reviewed book.

E-resources Orientation Program
October, 2021 till January, 2022
The offline & online “Orientation on iOPAC Facility” for the students of B. Com, BMS & B. Com. (B&I) from the month of October 2021 till January, 2022 in the classrooms and via Google Meet platform. The details of conducting the session were posted on the class WhatsApp groups. The Librarian with a PowerPoint Presentation oriented the students about the Accessibility of iOPAC facility (Online Public Access Catalogue)

To orient the students about the access of iOPAC facility
Outcome of Conducting the Competition
The students were shown how to access and the benefit of the same. Also, they were got aware of the PPT on How to access iOPAC and the sheet of username and password will be posted on each subject google classroom.
The students got in-depth information and obtained accurate knowledge to access the iOPAC

Library Orientation Program
20th October, 2021
The “Orientation Program” was for the first year students of B. Com, BMS & B. Com (Banking & Insurance) on 20th October, 2021 at 11.30am on Google Meet. The Librarian with a PowerPoint Presentation oriented the students about the library facilities, services and availability of e-resources.

To orient the students about the library collections, facilities, activities, services, rules and regulation & access of e-resources remotely

Online “Intercollegiate Book Writing Competition”
16th October, 2021
Our 4 (four) students participated in Online Intercollegiate Book Review Competition on “My Favourite Book” at Shri Pundlik Maharaj Mahavidyalaya, Nandura on 16th October, 2021 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam viz Vachhan Prerna Divas. In this competition, the participants had to create a video of the review and the same has to be uploaded on the online registration form.
Objectives of Conducting the Competition
To keep up the habit of reading and
To learn the new skill of reviewing i.e. via video presentation.

The students excitedly participated and had a good experience of expressing their views of a particular book through video form

Online “Essay Writing Competition”
15th October, 2021
An Online “Essay Writing Competition" was organized for Student to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam and Vachhan Prerna Divas on 15th October, 2021. The topic to write the essay was on “Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam- an example to follow” and the same were submitted on online form.
12 students participated in which ten students wrote in English and two in Marathi languages. Dr. D. S. Mhaske had judged the competition and the judgement was based on Expression & Style, Language & Syntax and Presentation of Facts.
Objectives of Conducting the Competition
To create awareness among student to read and know about the renowned personality and former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
To write distinctive examples set that can be followed in our lives.
Outcome of Conducting the Competition
The competition had drive students towards reading and the writing improved to pen down the information based on the topic. Lastly, for motivating the winners were provided e-certificates.

Poetry Writing & Recitation Competition
25th August, 2021
An Online “Poetry Writing & Recitation Competition" was organized for Student to celebrate the birth anniversary of the great soul of India Padmashree Prof. (Dr.) Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan the father of Library Science on 25th August, 2021 at 11.30 a.m. on Google Meet platform.
Objectives of Conducting the Competition
To encourage students for writing their fantasy thoughts in poetic manner.
To develop the reciting skills in poetical style.
Outcome of Conducting the Competition
The students participated to show their creativity of writing poems and recite the same in a poetic manner.
