2023-2024

Under the MoU of Interlibrary Loan with Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College, Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated wherein our College nine students went to MPSPS College and two students came to our College for the awareness of the Marathi Bhasah Diwas on 27th February, 2024.

The main focus of this celebration was to honour the rich history and literature associated with Marathi linguistics and to raise awareness of the importance of the Marathi language and its unfolding beauty.

The performance was very much appreciated by the students and staff attended every bit of the moment of enjoyed.

Library Committee & Department of Business Economics organized Publication Review - Review of an article for Kurukshetra & Yojana magazine on 17th February, 2024 

The objectives were to cultivate the habit of reading magazines to upgrade the current state of knowledge on topics and learn the techniques of reviewing the articles in a manner that provides valuable information of well-defined articles

The students visited the library, checked the magazines available and selected the articles of their choice from the magazines and reviewed the articles as per their understanding. Most importantly the students were glad to read specific topics and articles from the magazine that upgraded their knowledge in a particular field

The participants' observations, perception and general awareness of the subjects during and after experiences of reviewing improved.

Visit to Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute where under the MoU of Interlibrary Loan the library committees our College PGCCM library committee in collaboration with Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College (MPSPSC) and Public Night Degree College (PNDC) organized a library visit and other site visits to Pune on 17th January 2024. 

The main objectives were :

• To provide an excellent opportunity to introduce students to ancient libraries when they may never have been to one before.

• Knowing the way libraries work and how to use the resources and many more 

The students were surprised to see the oldest resources that caught their eyes amazingly this developed research ability among the students.

Further we have other sight visits such as Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, Shaniwar Wada, Lal Mahal, Jangli Maharaj temple, Pataleshwar caves and Dgduseth Ganesh temple.

Overall the visit was accomplished all the students had an excellent experience and received huge knowledge from the visits.

Two students were deputed to participate at Intercollegiate “Book Review Competition” organized by Clara College of Commerce on 20th December, 2023 

The main objectives were :

• to know the technique of choosing the right book that can be reviewed

• to understand the viewpoints of the author to write the book,

• to explain the writing and presenting skills to the review book at the competition in the limited time slot.

The students acquired the technique of choosing the right book that can be reviewed and learned to pick the correct information from the author viewpoints and present it to the audience in a right manner.

Two students participated at Intercollegiate “Book Review Competition” organized by KES’ Shroff College of Arts & Commerce on 5th October, 2023 

The main objectives were :

• Selection of a book for a review, 

• writing and presenting of the review 

The students had a good experience of reviewing a book and learned the presentation of the review.

The orientation was for the students of first-year B.Com, BMS, B.Com.(B&I) about Bibliotherapy services available by Library Committee for student well-being the program was organized from 11th to 13th September, 2023 

The students got awareness about bibliotherapy and how the therapy helps to overcome difficulties through reading a book at the initial stage of the problems through healthy and trustworthy association with the librarian.

Our College Library Committee in collaboration with Public Night Degree College and Mahendra Pratap Sharada Prasad Singh College organized a “Poetry Writing & Recitation Competition" for the students on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the father of Library Science Padmashree Dr. Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan. The event was conducted on 12th August, 2023 at Patuck-Gala College Library.

The main objectives were :

• To provide a platform to showcase their abilities of writing their poems and reciting in an expressive poetic manner that brings joy among students 

The students wrote poems on various themes of their choice and recited them with great zeal and enthusiasm. The audience enjoyed the poetic ambience.
