Easter: a time for family and traditions

The birds are chirping and the sun is beaming down upon us. Pastel colors and garden materials cover the shelves. That can only mean one thing, spring is in the air. With spring, comes a lot of fun activities and holidays. The main one being Easter, of course.

The Punxsutawney Memorial Library: more than just books

Gossamer morning light streams in through the ceiling sky-light into the vast area below, where bookshelves line the walls and stretch across the floors in long, straight lines like lazy cats. Stairs lead up into a comfy, spacious upstairs loft and down into a bright, vibrant sanctuary full of toys and games. And in every nook and cranny, togetherness breathes, and knowledge flows, and life lives. This is the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, and after a recent presentation held by the director of the library in the high school library, all of this life has come closer to the student body of PAHS.

Field Day may be on the brink of getting taken away

Field Day has been a tradition for as long as students can remember, but not very many students know Field Day behind-the-scenes. Student Council holds Field Day every year from profit made at Homecoming and Formal. After issues at last year’s event, there was discussion within Student Council to not have a Field Day this year.

Foreign Language Club visits The Big Apple

The Foreign Language Club recently took a field trip to the Big Apple. Students in Foreign Language Club spent April 26th and April 27th in New York City, visiting many sites like the 9/11 Memorial and Chinatown. Those in attendance were able to experience the vibrant culture and aesthetic of America’s biggest city.

Madison Lorelli is a cheerful Staff Writer who aims to go to the big Apple and make her mark on the ever changing Fashion Industry. Requiring a key eye for the latest trends, an occupation in this field is typically erratic and constantly fluctuating-but highly rewarding for those that can perform well. Lorelli dreams of one day owning a fashion business in New York City, one of the biggest metropolitan areas on the planet.

Art Club heading to Pittsburgh on May 17th

On May 17th, Art Club 9-12 will be taking a trip to Pittsburgh for its second, smaller field trip this year. Students will be participating in an event called “Painting with a Twist” where pupils will be able to participate in step by step painting, coming home with a piece of Art that they make.
