At both levels of Project Qualifications, the students get the opportunity to create an extended piece of work and to:
select an appropriate topic
identify a question or brief which specifies an intended project outcome
produce a plan for how they will deliver their intended outcome
conduct research into the project brief using appropriate techniques
develop the intended outcome using selected tools and techniques safely
demonstrate the capacity to see a project through to completion
share the outcome of the project, including a review of their own learning and performance with others, using appropriate communication methods
The outcome of the project can be a written report, but it can also be a design, media production, performance, artefact or it may be a combination of these.
Assessment Objectives
Each project is assessed by the tutor-assessor who has overseen the student throughout the project process.
They are standardised and moderated internally by more than one marker in the centre, and quality assured by the awarding body by spot checking of both process and assessment.
Students need to produce a project proposal form verified by a tutor assessor, a written report, activity log, supplementary evidence and a presentation, in order to pass the qualification.
The assessment objectives are:
Manage AO1
Use resources AO2
Develop and realise AO3
Review AO4
