Graduation Seals
At least One of the Two MUST be Ohio-designed:
*Graduation Plans will show when Seals have been obtained.
To earn the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal, motivated high school students must demonstrate certain professional skills required for success in the workplace.
Students must work with at least three experienced and trusted mentors who validate the demonstration of these skills in school, work or the community.
Student will Complete the Form and have trusted mentors sign for verification of skills and work experience.
Students will turn in completed form to their Counselor.
Military Enlistment Seal (Ohio)
For students interested in a career pathway that includes serving in a branch of the armed forces, the Military Enlistment Seal is an option to satisfy components of Ohio’s graduation requirements. To earn Ohio’s Military Enlistment Seal, students must complete one of the following:
Show evidence of enlistment in a branch of the armed services; or
Participate in a JROTC program.
An industry-recognized credential is a qualification of a specific set of competencies related to an industry or occupation. These credentials can take many different forms, including certificates, certifications and licenses.To earn Ohio’s Industry-Recognized Credential Seal, students must do one of the following:
Earn a 12-point industry-recognized credential; or
Earn a group of credentials totaling 12 points in a single career field
Obtaining a state-issued license for a practice in a vocation that requires an examination
Citizenship Seal (Ohio)
To earn Ohio’s Citizenship Seal, students must satisfy one of the following in BOTH American History and Government: (Students can mix and match options from the American History and American Government categories to earn this seal)
Earn a score of 3 or higher on Ohio’s State Tests in American History and American Government;
Earn a final course grade that is equivalent to a "B" or higher in American History and/or American Government
Earn a score of 2 or higher on an Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test; or
Earn a “B” or higher in appropriate College Credit Plus courses.
Science Seal (Ohio)
To earn Ohio’s Science Seal, students must satisfy at least one of the following:
Earn a score of 3 or higher on Ohio’s State Test in Biology;
Earn a final course grades that is equivalent to a "B" or higher in an advanced science course; Physics, AP Physics, Honors Engineering Physics, Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, AP Chemistry, AP Biology/BioTech Honors, and Biology II
Earn a score of a 2 or higher on an appropriate Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate science test; or
Earn a “B” or higher in a College Credit Plus science course.
Seal of Biliteracy (Ohio)
Ohio’s Seal of Biliteracy recognizes graduating seniors who can demonstrate high levels of proficiency in English and at least one other language.
The World Language Department teachers will explain the below requirements to all Juniors and Seniors enrolled in Spanish, French, or ASL courses. Kristine Dobransky will explain the above requirements to all Junior and Senior heritage speakers who are on track to pass the OELPA with a proficient or higher score.
Students will earn Ohio’s Seal of Biliteracy by satisfying each of the following:
Demonstrate eligibility for a high school diploma;
Demonstrate English language arts proficiency through one of the following ways;
Earn a Proficient level or higher on the ELA 2 OST, OR
Earn a Proficient score or higher on 9-12 OELPA, OR
Earn a remediation-free scores on the English and reading sections of the ACT
Demonstrate world language proficiency;
Pass the AP foreign language exam with a 4 or higher, OR
Earn a score of intermediate or higher on ODE approved assessments, which are;
Registration to take the below assessments is January 12th, 2024.

ASL: Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI)
College-Ready Seal (Ohio)
To earn the college and career readiness seal, students must earn remediation-free scores on the ACT or SAT, as outlined below.
ACT SAT
English Language Arts English subscore 18 or higher Reading/Writing 480 or higher
Reading subscore 22 or higher
Mathematics Mathematics subscore 22 or higher Mathematics 530 or higher
Honors Diploma Seal (Ohio)
To receive the Honors Seal, students must earn one of six honors diplomas outlined below:
Academic Honors Diploma;
Career-Tech Honors Diploma;
International Baccalaureate Honors Diploma;
STEM Honors Diploma;
Arts Honors Diploma;
Civics and Social Sciences Honors Diploma.
Technology Seal (Ohio)
To earn Ohio’s Technology Seal, students must satisfy at least one of the requirements below:
Earn a score equivalent to proficient on an appropriate Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test; or
Earn a “B” or higher in an appropriate College Credit Plus technology course; or
Complete a technology course (listed below) and meets criteria established by the Ohio Department of Education

Local Seals
Fine and Performing Arts Seal (Local)
Students graduating in the class of 2023 and beyond, must earn 3 high school credits in the Fine Arts discipline during grades 9 - 12.
Complete written reflection
Student Engagement Seal (Local)
Students graduating in the class of 2023 and beyond, must participate in at least 4 extra curricular PCSD activities (approved by Counselor) during their high school career and meet the following criteria in a non-academic course:
While enrolled in grades 9-12, students will participate in at least 4 total extracurricular activities offered by PCSD during their high school career. *(Students should choose extracurricular activities from their school-approved Student Activity list).
Students must attend at least 80% of activities for chosen extracurricular, including practices and games if applicable.
Community Service Seal (Local)
Students complete 40 hours of community service work. *(Unpaid work or service that is designed to help an individual, group or community.)
Recommended that students complete at least 10 hours of community service each year, totaling 40 hours by January 15th for seniors and May 15th for grades 9-11.
