Volunteer work is the lifeblood of every community, and the benefits of volunteer work for students can be immeasurable. There are many benefits of volunteer work for high school students - Discover new career possibilities; Acquire skills that employers are looking for; Qualify for certain scholarships; Enhance college applications. 

Job Opportunities

Holding a job while in high school can have many benefits. However, it is essential to strike an appropriate balance with schoolwork and your job.  Throughout the school year, local businesses share job opportunities with the Office of School Counseling. Job postings are on the board outside of the School Counseling Office, RM 422. 

WORKING PAPERS: All minors (workers under age 18) who work in New Jersey must have an employment certificate – also called “working papers."  As of June 2023, the process is now online.  Click here for more information.
