Week beginning - Monday 13th October 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
Our final week of the module has proved a busy one. As part of our commitment to our central idea, we took action by visiting the local food bank to help support those in need. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the food parcels - your generosity made a meaningful difference to members of our community.
In maths we've been learning about patterns. Children have had hands on opportunities to explore and create patterns using classroom manipulatives and natural resources in the outside area. Hands on learning has helped deepen the children's understanding of how different patterns work.
In Phonics we have learnt the sounds ck, e and h. In your child's reading record you will find information to let you know which phonic sounds your child has mastered. These will be clearly highlighted. If they are not highlighted it would be beneficial to practice these sounds at home to support your child with their reading. We have also been focusing on blending words. To help your child at home you say the sounds slowly c-a-t. Then say them again faster. Can your child hear the word you are saying-cat? You could make this fun by turning it in to a game.
We hope you have a relaxing half term.
EYFS are currently on the lookout for the following items to transform our outdoor area....
-large tyres
-wooden ladders
-large rope
-traffic cones
-traffic barriers
-old decking
-guttering
-old plastic seats (without legs)
If you are able to help with any of these items please speak to Mrs Luck. Thank you.
Home learning
Please do download the White Rose Maths 1 Minute Maths App to support your child's learning on subitising. The more they do it the more fluent they will become.
Phoenix
Xander has been a reflective learner this week giving careful thought and consideration to his reading experiences. He has mastered every phonic sound we have taught so far and has applied this in his reading. He is now reading everything in sight. What a star you are!
Goldings
Albie has shone as a risk-taker this week! It has been a pleasure to watch his confidence grow when making friends and tackling tricky situations. His admirable perseverance is something to be really proud of and we can't wait to see how his efforts will propel him into the year ahead. Well done!

Johnny’s inquiring nature drives him to constantly ask questions, not just out of curiosity, but to understand the deeper workings of things. He loves to explore and investigate, often researching topics that puzzle him until he uncovers the whole picture.
