Week beginning - Monday 2nd March 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week the Year 3's have been in a creative mood. To start with we used clay to create an Ancient Egyptian boat, complete with oars and clay pots to transport our goods up and down the River Nile. We then spent time learning about how the Egyptians used a 'shaduf' to lift water out of the Nile with ease. Out came the clay again as we attempted to recreate model versions of the invention. We have also made use of all of our Ancient Egyptian knowledge as we created our own narratives based around a journey up and down the River Nile. Finally, we have put the finishing touches to our 'Mix 'n' Match' booklets which we have created for World Book Day. Another busy week!

Arshini has worked really hard on her fractions in maths this week, as well as having shown she can plan and write a narrative. Fantastic work Arshini, I'm very proud of you!

Leah had some great ideas to include in her story about a journey on the River Nile in Ancient Egyptian times. She was a reflective learner and took time to add to her original ideas to create more excitement and help the reader picture what was happening.

This week Darcie has been really pushing herself with her writing. In one lesson this week she wrote three whole pages! (A personal record) She was even starting to use inverted commas in her writing!
Keep it up!

Amelia has made a huge effort reading both at home and at school this week, and is working hard to incorporate her ideas into her Ancient Egypt narrative this week. Keep it up Amelia.

Janelle is never happier than when her nose is in a book. She really enjoys escaping to other worlds and is an example to others with her reading enthusiasm. What a way to celebrate World Book Day!

Abigail has done lots of great reading at home in the last few weeks and in the classroom she has been improving on reading her work back out loud to the class, with her loud playground voice! :)
