PCA Student Council

Who We Are

The Student Council at Pacific Coast Academy is a dynamic group of high school student leaders dedicated to enhancing school life. Led by a team of officers and passionate members, we organize events, create clubs, and serve as the voice of the student body to improve our school.

Our Mission

We are committed to making PCA an exciting, inclusive, and thriving community. Our mission is to amplify student voices, foster leadership, and create unforgettable experiences that bring students together.

Our Goals

• Plan and host exciting school events that build community and school spirit.

• Implement impactful projects that benefit students and the wider community.

• Empower students with leadership skills that last a lifetime.

• Encourage student participation in shaping school policies and activities.

• Promote values of good citizenship and democracy in our school environment.

Our Accomplishments

In past two years, we have

✅ Hosted PCA’s  Winter Formal  Dances

✅ Created PCA's CREWS where students can socialize with students of similar interests.

✅ Doubled Council Membership after the first year.

✅ Organized virtual and in-person activities for High School students.

✅ Proposed the election of grade-level student representatives to find out what students want. The first elections will take place in early September 2026. 

How to join

If you are a high school student at PCA:

• Commit to attending our Leadership Lab* and Student Council meetings

  • Leadership Lab occurs weekly, on Tuesdays, from 2:30 to 3:30pm

  • Student Council also occurs weekly, on Thursdays, from 2:30 to 3:30pm

• Ask your HST!

  • They will enroll you through the Curriculum Ordering Site (COS), and you will receive a welcome email with the class link.

  • You can also get High School Elective Credit for this class.

If you are an 8th-grader at PCA:

• You are eligible to join in the second semester of your 8th-grade year as a full member of the Student Council

• Ask your HST!

  • They will enroll you through the Curriculum Ordering Site (COS), and you will receive a welcome email with the class link

If you are a returning member:

• Make sure you maintained good standing from the previous year:

  • This requires that you have fewer than 4 unexcused absences.

  • Additionally, you must volunteer at 1 or more Student Council-led events.

*The weekly Tuesday Leadership Lab is an Elevate class! While it is required for all Student Council members, all High School students are also free to join.
