Verhalende opstel
Die onderwerpe en instruksie kan gevind word onder TAAK 5.
Driehoekige Sirkel
Leerders moet die vrae in die teksboek met betrekking tot ALLE hoofstukke bestudeer, sowel as die addisionele vrae in die omslag beantwoord, met die oog op die inhoudstoetse wat weldra aan die leerders voorgelê sal word.
18–24 April: Taalteorie
Bestudeer die blou gedrukte taalteorie volgens die dagbeplanning vir kwartaal 2 en voltooi die oefeninge soos aangedui by alle teorie. Alle teorie en oefeninge sal weldra met leerders behandel en bespreek word.
25 Apr–1 Mei
Lees en bestudeer die gedigte "Digter", "e-sonnet" en "Ek is oek important" in julle digbundels. Bestudeer ook die verwante bundelbespreking by elke gedig. Ter aanvulling moet die materiaal in die omslag 10 HT Poësie (27 Apr–1 Mei) bestudeer word.
Voorbereide Toespraak
Berei jou toespraak voor sodat dit intrapslag afgehandel kan word. Diegene wat nie die mondelingopdrag ontvang het nie, kan dit in die EAT-lêer kry.
Letterkundetoets
Die letterkundetoets gaan oor Suurlemoen wees. Hersien die inhoud van Suurlemoen en wees voorbereid om op kort kennisgewing toets te skryf daaroor.
Taalwerk
Vind ook in die lêer die kwartaalbeplanning vir kwartaal 2. Doen asseblief al die taalwerkoefeninge wat groen geglim is in hulle werkboeke se taalgedeelte.
Poesië
Maak ‘n selfstudie van die gedigte wat in pienk geglim is op die kwartaalbeplanning.

Task 7. Relax. This is not a real assessment, but rather an opportunity for you to see how you would respond to an assessment like this. For this week, you are allowed to have your notes with you and spend as much time as you need to make sure that you answer ALL of the questions. After this week, you might not be so lucky.

Write a character sketch of the main character.
The main character undergoes a huge personality change.
Make sure you emphasize these differences and what contributed to these changes.
Henry was rich. How? He was idle and very vain. What does that mean?
He was selfish. How do you know that?
Henry was not always honest. How do you know that? What was the most important thing in Henry's life?
Give a short description of the book he read ans what he did after reading the book.

I hope you enjoyed The Mildenhall Treasure. Roald Dahl is a master storyteller. I bet you believed that that was exactly how the treasure was found!
This week you need to read The Hitchhiker.
Summarise the plot.

Week 5: 25 Apr–1 May: Punctuation
This week we are focusing on punctuation. Read the notes and then do the assignments A ,B, C and D. You will find this in the folder.
Write out all the sentences and paragraphs as per the assignments.
Week 6: 2–8 May: Verbs
This week we are focusing on verbs.
When one writes sentences, one needs to check that the verbs agree with the subject: a singular subject takes a singular verb and a plural subject takes a plural verb.
When we write sentences, we write them either in the active or passive voice. Study the notes carefully. Rewrite the practice sentences and test whether you understand this process.
There are two new files in the folder with more instructions.

Week 7: 9–15 May: Mark your work.
It is time to see how much you already know and how much you still need to learn. I am sending you the memos for the grammar work you have done. Please be diligent when correcting your work. If you noticed you have made a mistake, see if you can correct other similar sentences before you look at the memo.
Week 8: 16–22 May
This week you can read the first story in your Wonderful World of Henry Sugar: The Boy who Talked with Animals.
Answer the question below:
Explain how the title of the short story influences your perception of what happened.
Your answer should be about 5 sentences and written in your work book. Next week I will share with you what I think!
TIP: Google the word "perception." Is the story just about a boy who disappears?

Week 2 & 3 (4–17 April): Datahantering
Hoofstuk 13 is ook selfstudie, maar meeste van die werk het julle reeds in graad 8 en 9 gedoen. Daar is geen video's op Pocket Academy oor Data nie, maar daar is 'n PowerPoint in die omslag ('folder') wat presies verduidelik hoe elke tipe grafiek geteken moet word. Maak seker dat julle daarna kyk.
Week 4 (20–24 April): Equations (part 1)
In Grade 9 you were taught how to solve linear and quadratic equations. This week you have to work through the first part of Chapter 4 as self-study. ( Ex 4.1–4.4) The methods are the same, but the questions are significantly harder. Work through the examples in the book before you attempt the exercises. There are also notes with more examples in the folder and an extra exercise you need to complete.
Week 5 (25 Apr–1 May): Equations (part 2)
Continue working through the chapter on equations, focusing on simultaneous equations and inequalities. The exercises you need to do are in the folder.
This is also a good time to make sure you are on top of the work we did in term 1.
Week 6 (2–8 Mei): Vergelykings (Deel 3)
