December Pillar of the Month - Respect
Dear Families,
This month, we are focusing on respect, an important value that helps students grow, try new things, and make positive choices even when something feels difficult. When students practice courage, they build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of doing what’s right.
What We’re Learning at School
Students are learning that showing respect means:
Trying their best, even when a task feels hard.
Speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.
Asking for help when they need it.
Facing fears or worries with patience and a positive attitude.
Ways Families Can Support Respect at Home
Talk with your child about times they have been brave, even in small ways.
Encourage your child to keep trying when they feel discouraged.
Praise their effort, not just the outcome, to help them build confidence.
Model courage by showing how you calmly handle challenges or mistakes.

Pilar del Mes de Diciembre – Respeto
Queridas familias, este mes nos estamos enfocando en el respeto, un valor importante que ayuda a los estudiantes a crecer, intentar cosas nuevas y tomar decisiones positivas incluso cuando algo se siente difícil. Cuando los estudiantes practican el coraje, desarrollan confianza, resiliencia y un fuerte sentido de hacer lo correcto.
Lo que estamos aprendiendo en la escuela
Los estudiantes están aprendiendo que demostrar respeto significa:
Dar lo mejor de sí mismos, incluso cuando una tarea se siente difícil.
Hablar cuando algo no se siente bien.
Pedir ayuda cuando la necesitan.
Enfrentar miedos o preocupaciones con paciencia y una actitud positiva.
Cómo las familias pueden apoyar el respeto en casa
Hable con su hijo(a) sobre momentos en los que ha sido valiente, incluso en cosas pequeñas.
Anime a su hijo(a) a seguir intentándolo cuando se sienta desanimado(a).
Elogie su esfuerzo, no solo el resultado, para ayudarle a desarrollar confianza.
Modele el coraje mostrando cómo maneja con calma los desafíos o los errores.
Gracias por apoyar a su hijo(a) a demostrar respeto cada día.
