Failing a class can feel disappointing, but it does not mean you are off track or out of options. Many students recover credits and stay on track for graduation after failing a course.
If you fail a class, your school counselor will work with you to determine the best way to earn the credit back. Depending on your situation, your options may include:
Summer School: Make up the semester you failed during the summer.
APEX Credit Recovery: Complete an online credit recovery course during the school year to earn back the lost credit. Only 2 APEX courses allowed per semester.
Retaking the Class: In some cases, retaking the course may be the best option, especially if it is a required class or if credit recovery is not available.
Every student's situation is different, so we encourage you to meet with your counselor as soon as possible. Together, you can create a plan that helps you recover the credit and stay on track toward your academic goals and graduation requirements.
Students can view their graduation progress through the Graduation Status page in Aeries. This page shows the credits you have earned and the requirements you still need to complete for graduation.
To check your graduation status:
Log in to your Aeries Student Portal.
Select Grades from the menu.
Click Graduation Status.
Review your completed credits, remaining requirements, and overall progress toward graduation.
If you have questions about your graduation status or believe something is missing or incorrect, please contact your school counselor. Your counselor can help you understand your progress and make sure you are on track to meet graduation requirements.

We understand that there may be times when you feel a class or teacher assignment is not the right fit. Before considering a teacher change, we require students and parents/guardians to first meet with the teacher to discuss concerns and explore possible solutions. In many cases, open communication can help resolve issues and improve the classroom experience.
Teacher changes are generally not approved unless these steps have been taken first. If concerns continue after meeting with the teacher and there does not appear to be a reasonable resolution, the situation may be reviewed further.
In those cases, a Course Change Request Form must be completed and signed by:
The parent/guardian
The Assistant Principal of the student's academy
The school counselor
Submitting a request does not guarantee that a teacher change will be approved, as decisions are made on a case-by-case basis based on the circumstances and available scheduling options.
