There are a number of writing templates in this folder made using Docs and Slides. These can be adapted to fit the topics you are writing about in class. Typically these are used as publishing tools, or to support learners who struggle with writing. The templates are designed so that the formatting is already done, there are tips and reminders for writing, and space to add resource links and images. This allows the writers to focus on their writing, rather than what font and colour to choose!
If you want to use one of these, make a copy of a template you like, then change the information on your copy to suit the topic.
Inside this folder there is a range of planning templates for fiction and nonfiction genres of writing. You can use these to help students become more prepared for their writing, or use whatever template they find useful.
It's important that any template you introduce to the class is modelled explicitly, so that they can understand the purpose of each section.
Teaching students to refer to their planning regularly is also an important element of using planning templates. Good planning is not as useful as it can be if it isn't revisited throughout the writing process.
Having a shared class plan can also allow reluctant or struggling writers to access ideas and get them started on their independent writing.

PM exemplar books
We also have one physical copy of each book. These are available for you to use, however you need to issue them through Phyllis in the library. They are barcoded and will be issued to you under your name. Please take extra care of these.
