On this assignment I was tasked with answer numerous question revolving around the book Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario, having some general knowledge on the book having read it over the course of summer. I consider this assignment to personally be something I could work on as I could've added more detail in my response; they were surface level and I could have done a better in depth analysis. Adding quotes would also help to make a direct correlation from Enrique's Journey to the questions, highlighting immigrant struggles.

In this assignment me and my peers were tasked with reviewing the first chapter of the book, "Born a Crime", by Trevor Noah then answering the following question. The question was to write a connection to Trevor Noah's experience to a personal one of our own, illustrating the ability to form connections and identify detail in the book. The assignment was considered homework, tasked to be done individually. Throughout my I'd use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, which I'm personally proud of as well as being able to establish a relation to separate things such as-Noah's relationship with his mother and religion as I'm able to relate with having a stubborn, religion driven mother.
This assessment tasked students with reviewing Martin Luther King. Jr's most iconic speech, "I Have a Dream" and writing an essay highlighting the use of figurative strategies to convey his message-Such strategies of persuading his audience include: Ethos-The appeal of speaker's status and authoritative relevance, Pathos-appealing to audiences emotions, and Logos- which builds logical arguments to persuade viewer. Upon completion of the essay my points sometimes didn't quite hit the mark negatively affecting my grade and message. Although I was able to identify MLK's speech's rhetorical purpose and the strategies he uses to persuade the reader some ways I can improve is by being more specific, often times in my essay I make generalizations that exclude important detail resulting in a somewhat shallow message.
