The Elks National Lodge has created a wonderful essay prompt: What the Bill of Rights Means to Me

They are hosting a contest for students in grades 5-8. The essay gives students the opportunity to thoughtfully evaluate and express their views on the rights that all Americans are guaranteed. It is also a great way for you to get to know your students better!

This is a NATIONAL competition with prizes! The national prizes are 1st place -- $1,000, 2nd place -- $500, and 3rd place -- $250. Last year the local Elks lodge awarded student submissions with gift cards!

The Office of Humanities is requesting AT LEAST one submission from each grade level for each building due on Friday December 1st.

REQUIREMENTS:

1- MAXIMUM 300 Words

2- Typed or hand-written legibly in ink. Must be ORIGINAL, not scanned!
