The Law & Public Safety Track at Orange High School is a four-year pathway for students who are interested in careers in law, justice, and community safety.
Students in this program explore careers in:
Law (attorney, judge, public defender, legal researcher, paralegal)
Law Enforcement (police, investigator, federal agencies)
Public service and public policy (elected office, advocacy, public affairs, lobbyist)
Public safety and emergency response (fire service, EMS, emergency management, forensics)
Along the way, students build the reading, writing, speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills they'll need for college, career, and civic life.
Students in the Law & Public Safety Track will:
Take a coherent sequence of courses from 9th-12th grade that connect directly to real careers.
Work with guest speakers and community partners from law, law enforcement, public policy, and public safety.
Practice real-world skills:
Arguing a case
Reading and analyzing evidence
Writing reports and legal-style arguments
Collaborating on teams under pressure
Participate in experiences such as mock trial, field trips, and community based projects.
Prepare for college programs in criminal justice, political science, pre-law, public administration, and health/public safety fields.
