The Advocates for Human Rights is at the forefront of developing educational tools that help people learn about and apply international human rights standards in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities. They believe that education is one of the best ways to ensure long-term improvements in respect for human rights everywhere. Their free curricula, lesson plans, educator resources, and other educational materials explore a variety of human rights issues in the United States and around the world.

Compass was first published in 2002. Since then it has supported scores of professionals and civil society actors in bringing human rights education into the lives of countless young people in Europe and throughout the world. Translated into 31 languages, it has played an essential role in shaping rights-based approaches to youth policy and youth work.

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is the leading United Nations entity in the field of human rights, with a unique mandate to promote and protect all human rights for all people.

A variety of successful education tools on four major human rights areas: Gender Equality, Child and Youth Participation, Building the Capacity of Human Rights Defenders, and Evaluating Human Rights Education.
