Community Partnerships

Current Status:

• Share promotional video for PTO fall and spring book fairs during library class

• Work with the high school service club to provide childcare during fall parent/teacher conferences

• Strong working relationship between the school district and the Oostburg Public Library as evidenced by examples given below:

  • Time set aside in the school day to allow the public library children's librarian to promote the summer reading program to K-5 students

  • Middle school library aide takes each grade level, 6-8, to the public library to promote the summer reading program

  • Each first and second grade classroom attends a special story time with the children's librarian from the Oostburg Public Library

  • Elementary library media specialist serves as president of the Village of Oostburg Library Board as well as member of Friends of the Oostburg Public Library

  • Middle school library aide serves as the president of the Friends of the Oostburg Public Library

Possible Areas of Growth:

• Collaborate more with public library to promote or offer programs for the students of the school district
