Mrs. Marcou

Science

My name is Jessica Marcou and I am the 6-8 science teacher as well as 8th grade homeroom teacher. I have been teaching at OLV since 2010. I subbed for a year before I was formally offered the science position.

I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2007 with a BS in integrated science K-8, and then graduated in 2015 from University of Michigan Dearborn with a MS in science education.

I love just about all sciences but I prefer to teach and learn about biology and ecology.

I live on just about an acre of land and I am currently working on my gardens. I prefer Michigan native plants and love my butterfly bushes and hostas. I dug my own pond and am working on making the area around it a butterfly and native habitat.

I love the outdoors and especially kayaking or hiking. I live in Livonia with my husband Dave who is an EMT. We have a 6.5 year old named Eliza along with Emilee who is 3. They keep us busy!

Science at OLV is very hands on. We are following the Next Generation Science Standards which have many different areas of interest. 6th grade is learning earth science, 7th Grade is learning life science and 8th grade is learning physical science.

I will be sending correspondence over email as the year goes on.

My contact information is JMarcou@olvnorthville.net
