Our Lady's rigorously measures the impact of its careers programme, to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our pupils, by making sure it is relevant, meaningful, and impactful. We closely monitor potential ‘NEET’ (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) pupils to ensure bespoke, targeted support can be provided to any pupils who would benefit from it. Individual activities and interventions are evaluated, and continuous feedback is provided by pupils staff, parents and carers, and employers.
Our destinations data can be accessed below, alongside the school performance data via the DFE : https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/school/105576/our-lady's-rc-high-school/secondary/pupil-destination
All our stakeholders’ views are important and we ask for feedback during parent’s evenings and through our student voice tool. In addition, employers and college representatives are asked for their feedback after involvement in work/training/education-based initiatives.
Our Lady’s actively tracks its students’ choices and destinations post 16 and provides timely intervention for those students who are struggling with this process, working with support agencies and local colleges and training providers. We fully utilise the IYSS system Manchester City Council holds, and we can assess using NEET data the impact of our programmes and interventions. We seek 100% applications by Christmas and 100% conditional offers by Easter each year.
When reflecting on this application process and data we contextualise using labour market Information. By students understanding of the wider economic landscape and in particular which sectors are emerging as growth areas, it can help them make informed choices.
