Here at Our Lady's, we have a dedicated Careers Adviser, Mr Prendergast, to give our students Careers Guidance through one-to-one interviews and drop-in sessions. Mr Prendergast is available on Wednesday and Friday.
All pupils at Our Lady’s have access to impartial careers information, advice, and guidance from a fully qualified careers adviser. Every pupil will receive at least one individual careers guidance appointment before the end of Year 11. In most cases, pupils will also have the opportunity to meet with the adviser in both Year 10 and Year 11. Each appointment typically lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour, providing tailored support to help pupils make informed decisions about their future pathways. In addition, small group sessions are offered in Key Stage 3 to introduce pupils to careers education and help them begin exploring future options at an earlier stage.
Pupils who would like to meet with Mr Prendergast can attend one of his drop-in sessions or request an individual appointment. Parents and carers may also contact Mr Prendergast directly by email if they would like to refer their child for a careers appointment. In addition, he is available at Parents’ Evenings and Options Evenings to offer advice and guidance.
