Whenever someone asks what my favorite subject is, I would always say Math. The challenge and thrill it gives me, the way every problem tickles my brain, and the satisfaction I get every time I solved an equation correctly are the reasons why I have this so much love for Math. Who would have thought that a simple stamp would lighten up someone’s day? Every time my classmates distribute our seatwork in Math, I always wonder what stamp will I receive, and once I saw it says “Perfect!” with a big thumbs up, my day is complete. Reflecting on my scores, I’ve noticed that there are areas where I excelled and areas that need improvement. Each seatwork provides me with an opportunity to practice and to further develop my skills. This helps me to think critically and apply our lessons effectively. My carelessness is usually the cause of my mistakes, that’s why it always reminds me to double-check everything first to achieve better scores.

To be honest, I dislike having homework. I’m pretty sure it’s just not me! 😅 However, as time went on, with all the homework we did in Math, I came to see how essential it is for a student like me. We would probably view homework as a hindrance from resting or relaxing at our houses, but it is actually more like a chance to practice our learnings in class and to ensure that we can apply them independently. Our homeworks helped me to deepen my comprehension on each topic and made me ready for our upcoming classes. Similar to the seatworks, I performed well in some, but had some flaws in others, which is totally normal! This makes me motivated to enhance my abilities more in solving complex problems until I accomplish my goal.

On our first quiz, I was confident in solving all the questions. And yup, I did it! You won’t ever imagine how relieved I was to see my score. Well…. for the second quiz, we don’t talk about that! Just kidding! I am very disappointed on how my results turned out. When I saw the first question and I couldn’t solve it, I was so confused and started doubting myself out. I spent a lot of time overthinking whether the formula I remember was correct or not, which caused me to answer the other questions incorrectly as well. As this quiz serves as our reviewer for the exams, the perseverance and determination I felt was insane. I reviewed so hard and made sure that it won’t happen again.
PROJECT ⋆.ೃ࿔*:･
With the help of this project, I was able to work collaboratively with some of my classmates. At first, we were kind of confused on how this project is supposed to turn out, but after some clarifications, we finally understood it. Throughout the project making, we encountered some challenges such as coming up with our own equations and bank details. Though I must say, I’m so proud of our brand “DART” which is actually an acronym for our names. Kudos to Daniella for coming up with that concept! But anyways, this project helped us to apply the lessons we discussed in real life situations and made us realized that we really apply these complicated mathematical formulas when it comes to handling finances. We’re currently waiting for our feedback from our teacher and are hoping for the greatest outcomes!
MID-QUARTER EXAMS ⋆.ೃ࿔*:･
Even though my goal is to get a perfect score, 35/40 is not that bad! It just means that there is always room for improvement and to try and try until we succeed. There are specific topics that I have already mastered, yet there are still some I got wrong. This would help me to prepare more on the next exams and to correct the mistakes I made.

For this quarter, I noticed that the amount of paper works assigned to us decreased. I am not surely not complaining though! In fact, I’m grateful, considering the other subjects kind of bombarded us with intense workloads. Despite the reduction, our homeworks and seatworks continued to serve its purpose: reinforcing the lessons we learned in class. I find this quarter to be more challenging than those from the first quarter. However, this obstacle pushed me to be better prepared for any kind of question that we might encounter in exams or quizzes. Thankfully, with mindful integration and focused approached to studying, I managed to get a high score on each task. My experience for this quarter did not only test my knowledge, but also taught me that everything can be solved through perseverance and hard work.
Project ⋆.ೃ࿔*:･
I would describe this second quarter’s project as quite intimidating since it was our first time encountering something like this. When I read the set of questions, I thought I was doomed. Fortunately, I managed to recall all of our lessons, which made it possible for me to solve the given functions. This experience made me realize that my favorite lesson from this quarter was the inscribed angles. It’s incredibly satisfying to see how everything adds up so smoothly.
Another important lesson I learned was the impact of not attending class. We were excused on the first day of project making for a dance performance, which made it harder for us to catch up on what we missed. Thankfully, everything eventually fell into place, and I was able to achieve a high score, which I did not expect.
This project has made me 95% ready for the upcoming quarterly examinations, for which I am extremely grateful. It made the exams much easier and even enjoyable to answer. Math never fails to remind me why it remains my favorite subject. The combination of challenges, problem-solving, and the satisfaction of finding the right solutions continuously captivates me.

I entered this quarter with a fear of geometry. The topic seemed daunting, with its complex shapes, theorems, and proofs that twisted my mind into knots. I was unsure if I could ever grasp the concepts fully. However, through constant practice with our homeworks and seatworks, I started to see the beauty in geometry. Each assignment challenged me and pushed me to understand the subject better.
Now, as the quarter comes to an end, I find myself filled with love and confidence for geometry. I no longer see it as an intimidating subject but as a fascinating puzzle waiting to be solved. The homeworks and seatworks were instrumental in my journey, preparing me for the bigger projects ahead. I feel ready and excited to tackle any geometric challenge that comes my way, knowing that I've built a strong foundation.
Performance Task ⋆.ೃ࿔*:･
Surprisingly, I found this performance task much easier than the one we had last quarter. It was incredibly satisfying to answer all of the given problems, as I can confidently say that I have mastered solving them. Each correct answer felt like a victory, reinforcing my understanding and boosting my confidence.
However, among all the items, I found the statistics part to be the hardest. The complexity of analyzing each statement challenged me in ways I didn't expect. It reaffirmed my preference for solving equations over dealing with words interpretation. Another thing that made it difficult for me was the fact that it was only self-study, which isn't compatible with my learning method. I thrive better with guided instruction and interactive learning, so this self-study approach was quite a hurdle for me to overcome.
Even with the challenges, I was thrilled to receive a perfect score on this test. Achieving this milestone gave me a sense of accomplishment. More importantly, it helped me prepare for our upcoming third quarterly examinations. The performance task served as an excellent review, refreshing my memory and allowing me to practice answering questions within a given time frame. It was a valuable experience that not only tested my knowledge but also sharpened my skills for future assessments.

I must say, this has been the most frustrating thing that happened in this quarter! The numbers chosen by my friend gave me hope from the start. With each new number, I felt the excitement build, thinking, “This could be it!” But as the numbers were called, one by one, I was left with literally one number standing between me and victory. It's like the universe was playing a joke on me. Argh!
But, despite my failure in winning, I couldn't help but feel immense joy for my friends, Kirsten and Cyril, who won. Seeing their faces light up with happiness was truly special. Their success became our success; it was a celebration for all of us. The shouts and cheers from our classmates resonated through the room, creating an atmosphere of pure exhilaration. Even though I didn’t win, the camaraderie and shared joy made the experience unforgettable. It reminded me that sometimes, it's the journey and the people we share it with that truly count.

When I was part of the younger batch, I often heard others complain about how challenging and confusing statistics was. At the time, I couldn’t quite relate to their struggles and wondered why they found it so difficult. Fast forward to the fourth quarter, and I initially thought I had a solid grasp of the subject—it felt easy and manageable. However, my confidence was quickly shaken when Ma’am De Mesa assigned exercises that tested my understanding on a deeper level. I was utterly flabbergasted by the complexity of what I saw! While the formulas were undeniably simpler compared to other subjects, the recommendation and analysis sections presented a whole new level of difficulty that I hadn’t anticipated. They required critical thinking and careful interpretation, which proved to be much more challenging than I expected.
Luckily, I didn’t back down from the challenge. Through countless hours of practice and dedication, I gradually learned how to navigate these tricky parts. Repetition helped me refine my approach and build confidence, allowing me to master the analytical aspects of statistics. This rigorous practice not only enhanced my skills but also played a crucial role in our research project. Looking back, I’m grateful for the lessons that statistics taught me—especially the importance of persistence and adaptability in overcoming obstacles.

One of the most nerve-wracking aspects of research is undoubtedly the statistical treatment and analysis. It’s a delicate process where even a single mistake can set off a domino effect, potentially ruining the entire research paper. The pressure to get everything right, combined with the complexities of statistical methods, can be overwhelming. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to work alongside Risabrina and an amazing group of teammates. Our collaboration and teamwork helped us tackle each challenge head-on and ensure the accuracy of our work.
I am especially grateful to Ma’am De Mesa, whose patience and unwavering support made all the difference. Despite our endless stream of questions, she never tired of guiding us, offering clear explanations and valuable insights. Her expertise and encouragement were instrumental in helping us navigate the intricate parts of our research.
Through this experience, I’ve not only honed my skills but also developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of perseverance and asking for help when needed. This journey has been challenging but immensely rewarding, and it has boosted my confidence and readiness for the next chapter of my academic life. I now feel prepared and excited to step into senior high school, armed with the lessons and experiences that this research project has given me.
