This was our first activity/homework for English. It includes my research on the following topics: Folk Narratives, Folk Speeches, and Folk Ballads, specifically in the Philippines.
I enjoyed making this with my partner, Sophia. Through this activity, we shared each others ideas freely through suggestions on each line of the poem. I would say that we did a good job on this activity.
I got a score of 46/50. It is good for me, but I hope I can do better in the Quarterly Exams and get a higher score. Overall, I'm still proud of myself for achieving a score of not less than 30!
1ST QUARTER REFLECTION IN ENGLISH
This quarter, we learned about various lessons in English regarding the topics Philippine Folklore, Narrative Poetry, Elements of Narrative Poetry, Life of Lam-ang (Biag ni Lam-ang), and Subject Verb Agreement. These lessons not only help cultural heritage preservation, but it also teaches us the importance of grammar and proper speech. With our English teacher, Mr. Crespo, we acquired deeper understanding in this subject.
Philippine Folklore and Narrative Poetry are not just basic literature; It is a deep dive into our tradition and culture in our country. These help in preserving our cultural heritage and promote our own customs in our life. The Life of Lam-ang is amazing as well - it not only showcases his bravery and strength, but it also shows that he can sometimes be a lover, not a fighter. Subject Verb Agreement truly helped us in understanding the significance of proper grammar in sentences, The SVA rules were a bit hard to memorize, but I know that these will help me in the future.
APPLICATION: RESEARCH
This application is all about Alejandro Roces. We were tasked to research about his personal information, educational background, his famous literary works, some awards he received, and his struggles in life. This activity was done online and we passed it face to face.
FLIP STORY BOOK: PROJECT
This project is all about creating a story book about family conflicts and how to solve them. Thanks to my cooperative group 4, we succesfully finished the story book! Our concept was about a girls parents not agreeing to her desired career choice, which is to be a painter; while her parents have always wanted her to be in the medical industry, since her family wanted her to continue their legacy. The pictures on the left show our work.
DECLAMATI0N MINI-CONTEST
The declamation assigned to our section was "I Killed Her". I achieved a score of 95/100, and I was the 3rd runner up in my section, along with my fellow classmate, Jihye. I am truly proud of myself for this result, and of course, I am also proud of all of my fellow classmates.
2ND QUARTER REFLECTION IN ENGLISH
For this quarter, we dived into the concept of literature and stories. We learned about the story of My Brother's Peculiar Chicken, The Elements of a Story, Parts of a Plot, and Biographical Sketch. With the help of Mr. Crespo, we understood the lessons easily and we enjoyed.
All of these lessons have a certain significance. For instance, the elements of a story give depth and definition to a story's plot. The characters, conflict, and plot are major elements of a story since they are the main parts and they help in shaping a proper and perfect story. The story of My Brother's Peculiar Chicken is a part of our PH literature, since the author, Alejandro Roces, made history by winning awards and sharing culture with this story. And lastly, a biographical sketch, is an account of the life and activities of people. In terms of journalism and writing for biography, this lesson is important when we want to write about an essay, article, or anything about the life of someone.

3RD QUARTER REFLECTION IN ENGLISH
This quarter was definitely filled with unique, creative, and interesting lessons. We learned about the Figures of Speech, Linear and Non-Linear Texts, and Propaganda Techniques. All of these lessons have a specific significance in our lives, especially as students.
Figures of Speech are a type of speech, in which it requires critical thinking. It involves non-literal use of words, and creative use of language. Some examples are Similie, Metaphor, Personification, Irony, Hyperbole, and Onomatopoeia. These are important to us, so that we can enhance our writing skills and be more creative in writing. Linear Texts refer to the use of sentences to convey information. Non-Linear Texts, on the other hand, refer to texts AND visual representations, such as graphs, charts, and diagrams. Knowing the difference between the two allows us to be more innovative in comparing and contrasting, justifying procedures/sequences, identifying trends, and creating detailed texts. Lastly, Propaganda Techniques are strategies used to peruade and convince people to believe something or do something. Its significance can be seen and used through ads, commericials, politics, debate, and salestalk.

FINAL REFLECTION IN ENGLISH
As we finally close this chapter full of memories, discovery, writing, composing, and passion for the aspect of English, I would say that this year in English 7 has been truly great. It helped me develop and improve my vocabulary, my way of speech, my choice of words, and many more. Mr. Crespo helped us to be more proficient and skilled in English, which gave us inspiration and motivation.
I find myself looking back on our memories and journey with Sir Crespo as a class; The Declamation, News Reportings, Essay Writings, Commercial Videos, and more. There were challenges I faced, such as not being confident enough in the facet of grammar and speech. I wasn’t quite good at wording. However, I still strived to be better at it by practicing and practicing until I reached my goal. And I did— I achieved 4th Runner Up in the Declamation Speech titled “I Killed Her. It was unexpected, but I was so proud of myself. Of course, I was proud of my classmates as well.
To conclude, this year’s English was one of the best ones I’ve had. Personally, the ride was fun and exciting. Thank you, Sir Crespo, for making this school year memorable for us!
