Bus Transportation
Message to Families Regarding Bus Transportation
If your student rides the bus, we need your support to take some steps in ensuring your student gets to school and home safely.
Starting today, please take a note card or a piece of paper and write the following information on it:
Student's Name
Home Address
Bus Stop / Cross Street
Emergency Contact and Phone Number
Please make sure your student keeps this note card in their backpack at all times. This information will help our bus drivers in making sure that students get off the bus on the correct stop. This is especially important for young students and students who are riding the bus for the first time as they are not familiar with the routes and where they need to get on/off the bus.
If you have any questions, please contact your student's school or our transportation department at (405) 587-7433.

I am having a transportation issue, who should I contact?
If you have a transportation issue, your first point of contact is your school's front office. A quick call to the main number at your child's school can normally resolve any immediate problem or concern. If the issue can not be resolved at your school site, please call Transportation at (405) 587-RIDE (7433) so that the dispatch team can then help you. In case of an emergency, please dial 911.
Tips for Parents and Students
Make sure students are prepared to get on the bus and are familiar with the bus safety rules.
Work with your student so that they know the following:
Their home address.
Their parent's phone number.
Know their bus stop location by name.
Know their bus number.
Remind your student to practice the following bus safety rules:
Stay seated.
Keep their hands to themselves.
Use their inside voice when speaking with fellow bus riders.
Use kind words and actions.
Follow their bus driver's directions.
School Bus Transportation Policies
The following are the district's policies regarding providing transportation:
Students who live more than 1.5 miles from their home school are eligible for school bus transportation.
Riding the school bus is a privilege.
For the safety of all riders, students are to remain seated and keep the noise level down while riding the school bus.
School bus rules are basically the same as classroom rules.
Students need to be at their bus stops 10 minutes prior to the actual stop time.
