Introduce Yourself

Since this is your first Response, read through the explanation of Responses and be sure to follow the general guidelines.

This first response will be either a written response or video that introduces you to your instructor and collaborative team.

In a 300-500 word written response or a 3-5 minute video (taken with your smartphone is fine), introduce yourself to me and your team by addressing the questions below. You will want to compose or prepare carefully organized paragraphs about similar topics or themes rather than just answering each individual question. To address the questions about the "types of writing," think about all of the places that you write something. This is not just the writing that you do in school. You can discuss writing that you do at work, writing that you do on the web/internet, writing that you send to family, friends, and the people who you live around.

• Why did you choose to attend Old Dominion University?
• What is your major?
• What are your career goals?
• What do you want your instructors and your peers to know about you?
• What types of writing do you enjoy doing? Explain why you enjoy doing these types of writing?
• What types of writing would you say you struggle doing? Explain why this type of writing is a struggle to you.
• Describe the writing that you anticipate doing for the courses in your major and for your career. How do you feel about doing this type of writing?

On January 15, 2019, you will submit your work

You will first submit your work in the Google Classroom (see the video below). After you are assigned teams on 1.22.19, you will submit this Response to the "Introduce Yourself" folder in your team's Activity folder; this will allow your team to get to know you as well.
