The purpose of this activity is to work on sentence clarity rules that you and/or your peers may be struggling with. Scholars believe that an effective way to learn something is to teach it to others. Therefore, by trying to think through how you will teach a sentence clarity to others, you will come to internalize the rules and better understand these rules for yourself.
First, collaboratively choose one sentence clarity rule from the Purdue OWL's "Sentence Clarity." Do some research on the web for what other sites have to say about this sentence clarity rule. Pay attention to the different strategies each one uses to teach this rule.
Second, using the Purdue OWL pages you have read this semester (and maybe even Schoolhouse Rock) as examples, think about how you would teach this rule in your own words, in your own way. In other words, you cannot simply plagiarize what the Purdue OWL or any other site provides.
Third, develop a lesson on your chosen rule. The lesson needs to include...
This lesson can be presented mulitmodally as a slideware presentation or a short video.
Fourth, compose a brief explanation as to why you think this will be an effective lesson. How will the strategies that you used to teach your audience help them learn these rules well? This can be placed on a final slide or two, or it can be stated at the end of a video.
Fifth, overall the document resulting from this Activity should be 500-750 words or 5 minutes.
On March 29, 2019, only one person from each team needs to submit the Activity to the Google Classroom; however, all other team members should mark the Activity as done in Google Classroom.
