Technology acts as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement. At this level the content remains unchanged, but the students now take advantage of digital features that help to enhance the lesson. Try asking yourself if the use of technology for the given task will help improve student learning, and productivity.

Thinking of it in terms of your morning coffee. Instead of a simple cup of coffee you decide you want Starbucks to "spice it up" a little. They augment your original cup of coffee. They add ice, a new cup and a straw. Your coffee is different, but in the end you basically have the same thing with a slight change.
