Student Schedules
An on-track student takes eight credits each year.
The administration has the right to:
Deny a student from taking a schedule of more or less than 8 credits in a school year.
Cancel a course for which there are not enough students who enroll in the course
Decide which students must withdraw from a class if there is over enrollment in the class
Schedule students as appropriate to meet graduation requirements.
When choosing classes for the upcoming school year, please read the course descriptions and prerequisites. Dropping classes after the deadlines for each semester is NOT recommended (see Schedule Adjustments below). If there is a question regarding which courses to take please ask your school counselor or your current teacher in that subject area.
Adjustments to Student Schedules
It is expected that the students commit to the courses they select during the programming process. Student commitment to their course selection is important because teachers are hired, textbooks purchased, courses committed to other students, and facilities are allocated based on the course selections made by students during the programming process.
Students who wish to drop a class AFTER the beginning of the school year, may be placed in a different class that is available during that same class period. There is a limited window of time that drops will be allowed (end of the first week of the semester/term). Exceptions to posted drop deadlines will NOT be approved.
An ability-level change must be made by the end of the second week of the semester.
Students who drop courses after the deadline will receive an "F" for the dropped class. A Drop Request Form (available from your School Counselor) must be completed.
