Lesson 2: What are things found in, on, and around nurse logs?

We still had questions on our DQB about plants and mushrooms on the nurse log. We had lots of questions about moss.  We saw that moss can be found on many surfaces such as rock, shingles, trees. 

Questions about moss:

• How does it grow with no roots?

• What keeps the rain from washing it away?

• Why is it green?

• Is it like mold?

• How does it get its nutrients?

We looked at different types of moss more closely, then revised our consensus model.
