Care Bears → labels
When decided which (of the MANNNNY) high school stereotypes to to focus on I chose to use the “identities”/”labels” from the Breakfast Club
(undecided how exactly I’m going to visual execute it. Open to suggestions!!)
"Refugees that ran away from a war actually
Got through so much and how people look at them in that country.
Just drew what they reminded me still brainstorming."
Madonna and Child (by Bellini) inspired
Indigenous woman is holding earth like baby. Tree is dying behind her. Monoculture farming, pollution, airplane all around her
"So I took Marloe’s idea of the coral being in a hospital bed to show that the coral reefs are dying(the vibrant colors of the coral reefs are not signs of health, but signs of heat damage). Then I want to show the tourist industry that profits off of the dying coral and the people who depend on the coral reefs for food and tourism. I plan to paint this"
"For my piece, I wanted to show the double standards that society has for different people in the LGBTQ+ community. I think my initial sketch does a good job of showing the contrast between how people are treated. A couple things that I will change in my next iteration are the closeness of the camera to the characters (I will zoom out so that others can be in the shot) and the placement of the characters (making the image read from left to right). I think these changes could help with clarity."
"One half of building is on fire along with world below while the other is fine; flames slowly creep up to ppl on top; shows climate change will affect us all eventually"
a bunch of other ideas are bulleted throughout like ideas to represent
different effects of climate change; ex: rising water levels in Bangladesh
Basic rough sketch of one of China’s sustainable/green buildings; loose sketch of everything either burned or just debris left in the background; showing that sustainable is the only way to go
