The Department of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation is concerned with the health and welfare of all student athletes who participate in NYU's 20 varsity, 19 club, and 19 intramural sports and/or events. The department's athletic trainers provide care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for varsity and club athletes. The athletic training staff also provides first aid and referrals to the appropriate medical personnel or facility for intramural and recreational athletes.
