Grades should be posted and submitted to Academic Records no more than three days after the posted final exam date. The university uses web grading through Faculty Center, which allows for the following:
Complete grade rosters wherever there is an internet connection
Designation of a proxy to enter grades on behalf of instructor
Partial posting of grades (so that graduating seniors can be graded first)
Electronic grade changes
Names of graduating students highlighted in violet
Grades available to students 30 minutes after grade is submitted to the Registrar
Log into your NYU Global Home account (note that you must use the multi- factor authentication system to log in)
Click on the “Academics” tab
On the next page, there will be a button marked “Albert”. Click the green box that says “GO”.
You are now in the Albert portal. Select the “Faculty/Advisor” tab, and the next screen will lead you to faculty center which includes a section for “My Courses” (organized by semester), “Faculty Exam Schedule”, and “Faculty/Advisor Links”.
Under “My Courses” each class you teach will have a link for your Class Roster, NYU Classes, Book Store, Grade Roster, and Course Evaluations. Select “Grade Roster”.
The next screen displays each student on your roster with a “Roster Grade” drop-down menu next to their name. Select the grades for each student and click the yellow “save” button at the bottom of the page. You can enter partial grades if you like as long as the approval status is listed as “save and not submit”.
Once you have assigned all of the grades you wish to post, go to “Grade Roster Action” and select the *Approval status “Submit Grades to Registrar”, then click Save.
When the Registrar’s Office posts the grades, the grade roster will indicate Posted and the grades will appear on the student’s transcript. You will also receive an email notification that the grade roster has been received and posted.
If you use the Gradebook function in NYU Classes, you can also pull your grades from Brightspace into Albert for official grading in faculty center.
